The Central Library of S. S. College, Hailakandi was established in the year 1950 along with the commencement of the college itself, with the objective to fulfil the information needs of the students and teachers in the form of study materials which includes Text Books, Reference Books, Journals, Magazines, Newspapers, Question Bank etc. The college library is named in honour of Late Pratap Chandra Nath who donated the land for establishment of the college. Spread over 6000 sq. ft. area, the central library has a seating capacity of above 100 users and includes several reading rooms for students and teachers. It has a good collection of text and reference books, journals and magazines, local and national newspapers, CDs/DVDs and question bank comprising of previous years/semesters examination papers. To automate the house keeping operations and for providing online services, a web based Integrated Library Management Software (ILMS) i.e. e-Granthalaya 4.0 is being implemented by the library which enables the users to search and browse the library database remotely. The central library has subscribed to N-LIST e-consortium and DELNET online database for providing online access of various scholarly electronic information resources to the students and teachers of the college. The library is provided with a wireless broadband connection whereby users can access the internet using their electronic devices.
